There is always something to do when you live and work in Belfast. You should be buzzing about your imminent move to Belfast. There are so many reasons that make it a brilliant place to live.
1. The people
Belfast locals are very friendly and have a great sense of humour. Belfast Live say that “There is no-where else in the world quite like Belfast and the craic is always mighty!” We are sure you will have made a whole host of new friends in no time.
2. The sport
Belfast’s sporting history is impressive, to say the least! The lively city has produced a long line of world-acclaimed sporting stars over the years.
Of course, at the top of the list of Belfast’s sporting children is George Best whose football talent made him a global name during his lifetime. So proud are Belfast natives of their sporting son, George Best, that they named the city airport after him.
There’s also Carl Frampton and Alex Higgins. Alex ‘Hurricane’ Higgins is one of only ten snooker players in history to complete snooker’s Triple Crown, winning the World Championship, the UK Championship and the Masters.
3. The nightlife
We’ve already said that Belfast locals are a lively, friendly bunch, so as you might imagine their nightlife is second to none! There are bars, nightclubs, pubs and great restaurants, and eateries spread across the city.
Our favourite is Margo, which is a “stylish underground bar [that] serves creative cocktails and a carefully curated range of spirits, beers, wines”.
4. The architecture
Lots of visitors to the city are surprised by how impressive Belfast’s architecture is and it’s not talked about as much as it should be.
Belfast has some incredible buildings that are well worth a visit. At the top of your list should be Belfast Castle (see pictured), Queen’s University and the Titanic Quarter.
5. The shopping
Like the architecture, Belfast’s incredible array of shops is something lots of visitors to the city are surprised by. If you are a fan of hitting the high street, then we recommend heading to Victoria Square where there are over 70 shops and restaurants for you to explore. The Dome, which is situated very nearby, is then worth a trip so that you can take in 360 degrees vi.
