5 reasons why corporate housing is better than a hotel
Corporate Housing, such as serviced accommodation, beats a hotel hands-down when it comes to living away from home for work.
Especially as you don’t feel as if you’re a guest for a start. There are other reasons why business travellers prefer corporate housing and we’ll list some of them right here:
There’s more space
Unless the hotel you are staying in has provided you with a suite or the penthouse, you’ll have far more space in corporate housing. That’s because, rather than a room, you’ll have an apartment with a separate bedroom, bathroom and kitchen.
Many upmarket corporate housing apartments also have balconies with chairs to sit out on, as well as access to a pool and gym facilities.
Not all corporate housing consists of apartments. Some of the larger housing on offer can be for a group of colleagues and is indeed a house, complete with patio and garden area (even BBQ facilities).
It’s more private
It’s possible to come and go in corporate accommodation without anyone knowing you’ve even been there. In a hotel, you have to check-in and you’ll often have to check with reception if there are any messages for you.
You will still benefit from domestic cleaning – it’s just it will take place every week while you are out (rather than every morning after breakfast as in a hotel).
It’s more flexible
If you have a last-minute meeting then it’s possible to turn up at the apartment the day before your meeting to get organised. There’s no guarantee you will be able to do that with your hotel as they may already have all the rooms booked out.
Also, you don’t have to stick to the hotel’s meal schedule. Because there is a kitchen in your corporate housing you can make yourself a meal whenever you like.
It’s less expensive
Because you can cook your own meals in corporate housing you don’t have to eat out all the time. There’s a big saving right there. And you don’t have to worry about washing up either since most apartments these days are equipped with a dishwasher.
Also, you can use the internet and laundry facilities (washing machine and dryer) for free as well as invite guests, such as other business colleagues, over for a meal and drink.
Another big benefit is that with corporate accommodation, the cost tends to reduce the longer your stay. Investment consultants @res_estates say: “The difference with hotels is someone can argue and say, “Well, I can find a hotel for 3 nights for the same price as an apartment.” Fine, if that’s what you want, I get that. But, with service accommodation, the price goes down the longer you book. For the hotels, check for yourself, the price goes up.”
When it comes to booking into corporate housing, you won’t miss out on those luxuries you can expect to enjoy in a top hotel room either. You will still have your flat-screen TV and super-fast broadband connection, for instance.
