Great team building venues to visit
Team building may have taken a backseat in recent months as companies strived to get business going while staff worked from home.
But now that the final stages of lockdown are about to be lifted, we’re predicting team building venues will be very much in demand over the next few months. And it’s why we have highlighted a handful of our favourite locations specialising in team-building:
Wyboston Lakes Resort
This purpose-built facility, set in 300 acres of the beautiful Bedfordshire countryside, boats, lakes, Aquapark, and off-road course. There are also two dedicated team building venues at The Woodlands Event Centre and The Willows Training Centre
Catering for groups from “eight to 80,” this venue offers events-based packages with at least three to four-hour activity sessions per day. Choose from water or land-based packages.
Wasing Estate
Offering an unusual array of events, such as wild mushroom picking, yoga, treasure hunts and archery, Wasing Estate is more about wellbeing and relaxing than being ‘power sports driven.’ Having said that, track cycling is also possible for those in need of an adrenaline rush.
There are also lakes, a wild garden, beautiful, locally sourced, organic food and stunning accommodation at this 18th century Berkshire estate.
Carden Park
A team-building venue that caters for those who do enjoy an adrenaline rush, this 1000-acre Cheshire country estate offers 4×4 off-road riding, for starters. There is also an intense aerial rope course, climbing wall and 210-metre zip slide.
All that blood-pumping is bound to get your team’s creativity flowing. And if it doesn’t go well, there’s always archery…
There’s also plenty of conference facilities here, and even leadership training courses.
CenterParcs
A family favourite, but CenterParcs isn’t only about the little ones and mum and dad chilling in the hot tub with a bottle of wine at the end of the night. No, there is also plenty of team-building action going on, if you need it.
Specially put-together problem-solving activities aimed at enhancing your team’s communication and negotiation skills, not to mention motivation, the CenterParcs management is pretty skilled itself in a variety of team-building techniques.
Choose from up to four forest locations – Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire, Wiltshire’s Longleat Forest or Woburn Forest and Elveden Forest in Suffolk.
Stoke Park
Located in Buckinghamshire, this luxury 5* hotel and estate set in more than 300 acres of parkland, lakes and a historic garden, is an ideal office get-away and team-building location. With its golf course, tennis courts, indoor swimming pool and spa facilities, plenty is going on.
Archery, Segway, Spy School, and a Treasure Hunt are all great team-building activities. So is an evening’s Murder Mystery.
Entrepreneur @BrianScudamore is a great believer in team-building to bring about a bond amongst employees.
He advises: “Activities that overtly aim to draw in leadership lessons or practical takeaways are less powerful. Spending time together, sharing an experience or working towards a common goal allows bonding to happen more organically and far more effectively.”
